The new Ethernet to HomePNA 2.0 Bridge Reference Design
is made possible by a collaboration of two key industry leaders,
Conexant and TRISIGNAL. Conexant is a founding member of
the Home Phoneline Networking Alliance (HomePNA), a unified
industry consortium of 155 companies working together to
create standards-based products for home connectivity over
existing phone lines. Conexant's technological expertise and
strong industry presence have allowed it to utilize the CX82100
Home Network Processor and the CX24611 HomePNA 2.0
Physical Layer Device to support this bridge. TRISIGNAL is
based in Montreal, Canada, and specializes in licensing
high-performance, cost reducing communication solutions
for today's Internet appliances, set-top boxes, Web phones,
game machines, network and gateway equipment.

By electing to install a HomePNA system, users can save up to 30% over conventional
Ethernet systems installation. That's because there is no wiring installation. HomePNA
2.0 uses the consumer's existing phone lines.
The Strength of Bridging
The ClearLine 10MTM firmware by TRISIGNAL implements
all the necessary bridging and drivers needed to work
seamlessly with the Conexant hardware components.
This base design can be used as is, or adapted to add
numerous features for different environments. This
firmware makes the Ethernet to HomePNA Bridge
so useful, while at the same time allowing for lower
development costs, lower risk and faster time to market.
ClearLine 10M works with the CX82100 HNP and the
CX24611 HomePNA 2.0 PHY to deliver high-speed
(10Mbps) digital networking over readily available
standard telephone lines. It bridges the phone line network
to a standard Ethernet LAN, and comes with configuration
and management utilities. The design can be laid out to fit
any enclosure, and can fit into relatively small form factors.
Its simplicity and ease of use with minimal configuration
requirements are some of the most powerful assets
ClearLine 10M brings to the Ethernet to HomePNA Bridge
2.0. Additionally, TRISIGNAL is available to work directly
with OEMs for specific customizations.
