The PCI-468 is a cost-effective, 8-channel isolated input and output
interface board designed for control and sensing applications. It is
easily installed in any desktop PCI computer. The PCI-468 provides 8
optically isolated bipolar inputs and 8 electromechanical relay outputs.
It can be used with various applications including external voltage
sensing for both AC and DC, load sensing, external switch sensing
and contact closure monitoring and control.
The 8 electromechanical relays are addressed as a single byte (part
of a 32-bit DWORD). Five of the relays are type Form C contacts
(SPDT) and three of the relays are type Form A (SPST - normally
open). Their contacts are rated for 2 Amps at 250 VAC or 220 VDC,
have a life rating of 100 *10

operations minimum, and provide 1500
Vpk-pk isolation. The state of the relays can be read back from the
address register.

The 8 individual optically isolated inputs are also read as a single byte
(part of a DWORD). The inputs are not polarity sensitive, and can be
driven from 5 to 24 V

includes a software selectable slow/fast filter with a time constant of 5
mS. Additional resistance can be added to the input externally to
extend the input voltage range. The inputs can be mixed between AC
and DC, and have guaranteed isolation strength of 500 Vpk-pk
channel to channel and channel to ground.

Input Output Connector
The I/O connector for the PCI-468 is a standard 37-pin female type D
connector (DB-37S) and is accessible at the front of the computer
chassis.

Software
Windows 95/98/NT/2000 have become the platforms of choice for
many data acquisition, test, measurement, and control applications.
These feature rich, 32-bit operating systems exploit huge amounts of
memory, secure multi-threading, and hardware plug-n-play (PnP) to
provide high performing, user friendly working environments.
PCI-468WIN
Each PCI-468 includes installation software for hardware detection
and initialization under Windows 95/98 and Windows NT/2000. The
control panel provides an easy to use, point and click graphical user
interface (GUI) allowing access to all operating modes, delay options,
and reed relay outputs.
PCI-468WINS
The PCI-468WINS includes all the features of the PCI-468WIN
software plus the complete source code to the GUI application
(Microsoft Visual Basic) and DLLs (Visual C++), and allows you to
communicate with the PCI-468 from the familiar environment of your
favorite high level language - C/C++, Visual Basic, LabVIEW
, etc. Its
standard Windows ActiveX control facilitates custom software
development of the PCI-468 into other applications. The source code
also contains some simple example programs in Visual Basic, Visual
C++, and National Instruments' LabVIEW.
LabVIEW Support
Included with the PCI-468WINS are ActiveX controls to convert to a
LabView VI (Virtual Instrument) that allows complete hardware control
under LabVIEW. Also allows for the control of multiple PCI-468's in
one system and includes complete functional VI sample programs.
