Compact/TTL Output, Integrated Photon Counting Circuit,
with Low Noise Photomultiplier Tube
H4730/H4730-01 are photon counting heads, incorporating a
photomultiplier tube(PMT) for photon counting, high speed
amplifier/discriminator as a set in a compact magnetic shield
case. To perform photon counting with a good S/N ratio easily,
you just need to externally connect a high voltage power supply
for the PMT and a low voltage power supplies for the amplifier/
discriminator and count the number of output pulses of the
H4730 with a counter. Optional accessory A5079 is designed to
H4730 series as a shutter and filter assembly.

SIDE-ON PHOTON COUNTING HEADS H4730, H4730-01
The A5079 is a shutter/filter assembly designed specifically for the H4730 and H4730-01 photon counting heads. It can be easily fitted to the
H4730 and H4730-01, and enables photon counting with a wide dynamic range by choosing whether to use the built-in neutral density filter. In
addition, the shutter function can maintain the noise counts of the heads, when the head with A5079 is exposed to room light. Further this
function can prevent the photocathode from being damaged by external disturbance light.

When connecting this side-on photon counting head H4730 or H4730-01 with a commercially available counter of TTL input, use a 50 ohm
termination resister or a 50 ohm feed-through termination (ex. TEKTRONIX 011-0049-01etc.).
