Subminiature, Darlington-Output, High-Sensitivity, Reflective
Photointerrupter. Focal Length 1.0 mm
Description of Change:
Production line has become obsolete and the total demand has
significantly decreased. The GP2L09 Series is 17-years-old.
Effect of Change:
Depending on the collector current sort requested, Sharp has a recommended
alternative to all the parts in this series that are being discontinued.
Suggested Alternate Devices and/or Manufacturers:
GP2L09A has a collector current sort of
0.5 mA to 1.9 mA. We recommend using one of the other Sharp GP2L24 collector current sorts. The
GP2L24 could not support the "A" rank yields. The Honeywell and Fairchild parts are close, but NOT
a direct replacement.

Customers must notify Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas in writing 90 days before the last buy
date if they consider the discontinued product to be "Single Source". Sharp Microelectronics and the
customer may negotiate an appropriate End-of-Life Agreement.
